A hand between two seas
Bahadır Türkgeldi is a designer and editor building bridges between cultures through fashion and storytelling. Trained in Comparative Literature and Textile & Fashion Design at İstanbul Bilgi University, in pattern making at Altier Academy and in textile design at IED's Accademia Aldo Galli in Como, his work folds Anatolian and Ottoman memory into Italian design: from the award-winning Enheduanna (IED-FWC, 1st prize) to kidswear seasons for KidZee.
Turkish names both seas by colour: the Black Sea is Karadeniz, the Mediterranean Akdeniz — the white sea. In the old Turkic colours of the compass, black is north and white is west.
